Volunteers wanted for Kiwanis Club's annual Peanut Days

LOMBARD – The Kiwanis Club of Lombard is seeking community members to volunteer at the organization's annual Kiwanis Peanut Days that run from Sept. 26 to 28.

During Peanut Days, volunteers are stationed throughout the community distributing peanuts and collecting donations that are used to fund the club's yearly activities.

Proceeds from this fundraiser will support the Kiwanis Club of Lombard's scholarships for high school students, along with the Lombard-Villa Park Food Pantry, the Lombard Fire Department's Trauma Teddy program, the Lombard Historical Society's Junior Historian program, the Helen M. Plum Memorial Library's summer reading program and First Things First.

Community members interested in volunteering to distribute peanuts and collect donations can contact Dee Thompson, president of the Kiwanis Club of Lombard, at dee.thompson1943@gmail.com.

Volunteers will be collecting donations at the following locations: the Lombard Metra station, Schroder's Ace Hardware, Ultra Foods, 7-Eleven at Main Street and St. Charles Road, Roosevelt Road and Main Street, Roosevelt and Meyers roads, Roosevelt and Finley roads and Main Street and St. Charles Road.
