Road construction, water tower work planned in Brookfield

BROOKFIELD – Village Manager Riccardo F. Ginex said the Illinois Department of Transportation will be starting road work near the intersection of 31st Street and Golf View Road soon on Sept. 9 at at Village Board meeeting. 

He said they will be widening the pavement and installing new traffic signals.

Ginex said they do not have a hard date on when construction will begin or end yet.  

Ginex reported that work on the town’s iconic water tower near the intersection of Maple Avenue and Brookfield Avenue is ahead of schedule.

He said the tower, which at 95 feet tall is the tallest structure in the village, will be filled with water early next week following maintenance. He said the work painting the exterior will begin soon.
