RIVERSIDE – The Riverside Fire Department announced last week that they were pleased by the results of a study performed by the Insurance Services Office, Inc. (ISO) that showed Riverside has a good ability to suppress fire.
The analysis was performed June 3. The survey included a review of the village’s water supply system, the dispatch center’s capacity to receive and handle fire alarms and the department’s ability to mitigate fire losses.
The department was awarded a rating classification of 3. The rating scale ranges from one to 10, with a rating of 1 being superior fire protection and 10 not meeting the ISO’s standards.
The good news for residents is that with the new classification, they will maintain lower fire insurance premiums for the community.
