BROOKFIELD – Snap a winning photo of an animal and you could be the winner of two free round-trip plane tickets.

The Chicago Zoological Society's 2013 Photo Contest features a grand prize of two round-trip airline tickets to any of the contiguous 48 states, Canada, the Caribbean or Mexico as provided by American Airlines.

Photo submissions should be sent as 8-by-10-inch prints in color or black and white, and must feature an animal. Brookfield Zoo is a recommended spot for taking photos, but it is not required that entries come from the zoo.

Judges will select one grand prize winner in addition to a first, second and third-place winner from two age categories: adult (12 and older) and child (11 and younger). Winning photos will be displayed in the lobby at Brookfield Zoo's Discovery Center and also on the Chicago Zoological Society's website.

To enter, fill out an entry form and tape it to the back of the photo. The contest is limited to one entry per person. Those interested can download an entry form and the official contest rules at www.CZS.org/PhotoContest. Forms are also available at Brookfield Zoo's north and south information kiosks and at House of Color, 9912 W. 55th St. in Countryside.

Entries should be sent to: Brookfield Zoo, 2013 Photo Contest, 3300 Golf Road, Brookfield, IL 60513. Entries can also be dropped off at the zoo's south gate reception. All entries must be received by 5 p.m. Oct. 14.

Entries will not be returned.
