School bus driver charged with DUI while on duty in West Chicago
WEST CHICAGO – A bus driver has been charged with one count of aggravated DUI after allegedly driving under the influence of alcohol while transporting children in West Chicago, according to a news release from the DuPage County State's Attorney's Office.
Bond was set at $100,000 for Jill Beebe, 42, of the 600 block of Sunbury Road in South Elgin, Friday afternoon after she was arrested that morning, the release said.
After picking up her bus in St. Charles, Beebe began transporting elementary school children along her West Chicago route, according to the release. While Beebe was dropping off children at a school, a staff member came out to talk to her and then reported to the principal that Beebe allegedly smelled of alcohol, the release said.
