As we head toward the end of the year, your village government has been working hard on a number of initiatives.

We want to thank our staff, residents, businesses and everyone who contributes to the success of our community.  Following is an update regarding some of our recent activities.

Stormwater Management Committee

I want to thank everyone who has stepped forward to be part of our Stormwater Management Committee. The committee will soon come before the Village Board to make an initial presentation. It’s my understanding that there are some exciting and innovative ideas on the table, which will be shared with the entire community in the near future.

Westmont First

I want to thank our residents and businesses who have agreed to be on the core team of our new Westmont First initiative. The philosophy of this initiative is to ask everyone to get more involved in our community.  To learn more, visit WestmontFirst.com.

Coffee with the Mayor

Our Coffee with the Mayor events have been a big success. Thanks to Brewed Awakening, La La Li, Standard Market and the Westmont Library for hosting these important opportunities at which residents can come and share their thoughts about the community. On Oct. 19, we will be at Harvest Grill, and then we’ll be at La Petite Sweet on Nov. 30. We hope you can make it.

Westmont volunteers are the best

As is true with everything, the value you get from something is directly related to the investment you put into it. Please contact me at at rgunter@westmont.il.gov or 630-981-6201 if you are interested in getting more involved in our community.  Working together, we can and will make a positive difference.

Ron Gunter is the mayor of the Village of Westmont.
