Bolingbrook man faces drug charges after resident alerts police

BOLINGBROOK – A resident's tip of a suspicious person Tuesday in the 500 block of N. Pinecrest Road led to the arrest of a Bolingbrook man who was then charged with felony possession of crystal meth, a controlled substance, according to the Bolingbrook Police Department.

At about 3:19 a.m. Tuesday, Petronilo I. Cruz, 59, of 503 Kildeer Drive, Bolingbrook, was stopped and checked by the Bolingbrook Police Department in the 500 block of N. Pinecrest Road, according to police.

Upon further investigation, police found 3.3 grams of crystal meth in Cruz's possession, police said.

He was subsequently taken into custody, processed and then transported to Will County Adult Detention Facility.

The Bolingbrook Police Department was led to the area following a tip from a resident, according to Bolingbrook Lt. Mike Rompa.

Bolingbrook Police responded to a call notifying the department of a suspicious man walking back and forth in front of their home, Rompa said.

Cruz is being held at Will County ADF on $50,000 bond.
