DOWNERS GROVE – The Downers Grove Village Council unanimously approved a new Starbucks planned for 1149 Ogden Ave. at its regular meeting Tuesday night.

Once constructed, the 1,800-square-foot building will have a drive-thru. It will be the Seattle chain's third location in Downers Grove, following 5002 Main St. and 76 Ogden Ave.

It plans to be open 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. seven days a week.

Plans call for 18 parking spots, new landscaping and outdoor patio seating, according to village documents.

The plans were previously recommended by the village plan commission.

Starbucks hopes to break ground in October and open by spring, according to Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation President and CEO Michael Cassa. He said that could depend on weather and construction scheduling.
