DOWNERS GROVE – The American Cancer Society is inviting men and women to participate in a nationwide cancer research study aimed at understanding the factors that may prevent or cause cancer.

The ACS is hosting an recruitment event from 2 to 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the DuPage Medical Group office, 1100 W. 31st St. in Downers Grove, according to a press release.

This is the third time ACS has conducted the large study. Participation is sought in a number of geographic markets in addition to Downers Grove.

The study seeks to recruit men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 from various racial/ethnic backgrounds with no personal history of cancer to help reach full enrollment of at least 300,000 people across America, according to a press release.

Quest Diagnostics has partnered with the American Cancer Society to drive enrollment and encourage participation in Chicago and across the U.S.
