West Chicago police ask residents to report suspicious activity near sewer grates

WEST CHICAGO – In response to continued thefts of storm sewer grates in West Chicago, police are asking residents to report any suspicious activity they witness near the grates, according to a city news release.

A black, late-1990s/early-2000s Ford F-150 pick-up truck with extended cab and a distinctive 12- to 18-inch blue stripe along the lower trim has been seen in the vicinity during the time of the thefts, the release states.

Residents should call 911 to report suspicious activity or any missing sewer grates. Anyone with information about the thefts may contact the West Chicago Police Department at 630-293-2222 or DuPage Crime Stoppers.
