BROOKFIELD – The Brookfield Village Board made several minor moves to add to the town’s coffers at their public meeting Sept. 9.

The Village Board unanimously approved a new tax to raise the Library Tax by 0.02 percent, from its current rate of 0.35 percent to 0.37 percent. In accordance with village laws, if 10 percent of the village's registered voters, about 1,000 people, sign a petition within 30 days, the issue will be decided by voters during the next election.

The Board also approved a media buy of approximately $28,100 for a series of radio advertisements to be played during broadcasts of Bears games on WBBM radio.

The ad touts Brookfield’s business-friendly environment.
