La Grange's West End Art Festival features new twists
The annual West End Art Festival returns Saturday and Sunday and will feature artists from throughout the country. This year, the event also includes demonstrations by local culinary specialists and performing artists, as well a number of hands-on activities. An opening night celebration will be held Friday.
The festival, which is held next to the Stone Avenue Train Station, will showcase the work of more than 50 jury-selected artists from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.
New this year are a Performing Arts Day on Saturday with live performances by local dance, theater and music groups. The Art of Food on Sunday, will feature demonstrations by chefs from prasino, Sushi House, Isn't That Sweet Bakery and other local spots.
The festival kicks off with An Evening of Art & Jazz from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, which will include a cash bar and food from local restaurants.

La Grange Park hosts Jazz and Blues Festival
The Community Park District of La Grange Park will host its fourth annual Jazz and Blues Festival Friday at Memorial Park. The free concert includes three bands, food vendors, a beer and wine tent and a cruise-in car show.
The show runs from 6 to 11 p.m. at the Memorial Park Amphitheater.
