La Grange can fill firefighter position with federal grant

LA GRANGE – The La Grange Fire Department has received a $162,356 grant from the Department of Homeland Security to fill, for up to two years, a firefighter position that went unfilled after a retirement. 

U.S. Rep. Dan Lipinski, D-Western Springs, and La Grange Village President Tom Livingston, announced Monday that the village had received the grant, awarded through the Federal Emergency Management Agency's Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response program. The program will award approximately $320 million to departments throughout the country.
