ELMHURST – Conference football is here. York hosts Hinsdale Central looking to prove its 2-0 start is no fluke while IC Catholic hopes to rebound from the loss at Kaneland in the Suburban Christian Gold opener.

York vs. Hinsdale Central

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: Clarence D. East Football Field, 355 W. St. Charles Road, Elmhurst

Records: York 2-0, Hinsdale Central 1-1

Outlook: After the Dukes won two non-conference games with gaudy scorelines, especially on the offensive side, York now faces its first major test of the season. Hinsdale Central has two Division I commits in two-way lineman Brian Allen (Michigan State) and 6-foot-7 receiver Ian Bunting (Michigan). The Red Devils only squeaked by York last year 20-17 in the Dukes' closest game of the season.

IC Catholic vs. Aurora Central Catholic

When: 1 p.m. Saturday

Where: Lewis Stadium, 150 S. West Ave., Elmhurst

Records: IC Catholic 1-1, Aurora Central Catholic 2-0

Outlook: IC will try to rebound from its first loss of the season in the Suburban Christian Gold opener for both teams. The Knights and Chargers were two of the three teams that shared the conference title last year, but the Knights won 33-0 in the head-to-head meeting. The Chargers are 2-0 with a forfeit win in Week 1 and a 42-7 at Bogan on Saturday.
