ELMHURST – A St. Charles man is being held at DuPage County Jail on $10,000 bond after Elmhurst police charged him with possession of heroin.

Phillip G. Lawson, 33, of the 500 block of South 12th Street, St. Charles, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, theft and burglary at 5:58 a.m. Sept. 8 at York Street and Crestview Avenue.

During a traffic stop, police said they found Lawson had a crack pipe and heroin cooker. Police also collected seven Ziploc-style baggies containing heroin residue.
