LA GRANGE – The First Methodist Church of La Grange will host its fifth annual Methodist Attic Rummage Sale Thursday through Saturday.
A variety of donated items will be for sale, including books, jewelry, antiques, adult and children's clothes, furniture, bicycles, lawn furniture, linens and more. Proceeds go toward the missions and ministries of the church, including a mission project that sent 50 youth and adults to West Virginia this year.
More than 200 church members help run the sale.
"It's really a big event that our entire church participates in and something that we're really proud of," said Sue Hahn, who is organizing the sale with Sue Johnston, Hattie Stahl and Bob Caemmerer.
Donations come mainly from church members, but the church will take donations from anyone. Hahn said the event brings together people of all ages.
"The youth are a big part of this project," Hahn said. "It's truly intergenerational. We have people in their 80s and down to the kids that will do any and all sorts of jobs [during the sale]."
The sale takes place throughout the church's lower level and under a canopy outside the church. Sale hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday; 5 to 8 p.m. Friday; and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday.
