Lyons Township quarterback Tom Fiedler drops back to pass in the Lions home game against Willowbrook on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013.

After failing to win in the first two weeks of the season Lyons Township, Riverside Brookfield and Morton are in desperate need of a win. LT and RB hit the road while the Mustangs host Proviso East, another winless team, in the West Suburban Gold opener.

Lyons Township at Leyden

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: 1000 N. Wolf Rd., Northlake

Records: Lyons Township 0-2, Leyden 0-2

Outlook: This is a battle between 2012 playoff teams that have yet to earn a win in 2013. The Lions' defense is hoping to recover from allowing 104 points in its first two games and pick up a win before entering conference play. Leyden, the defending West Suburban Gold champ, will enter its home opener after losing at Buffalo Grove 28-14 in Week 1 and Oak Park River Forest 38-3 in Week 2.

Riverside Brookfield at Gary West (Ind.)

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: 9th Ave. & Gerry St., Gary, Ind.

Records: Riverside Brookfield 0-2, West Side 0-3

Outlook: The Bulldogs will head to Indiana in search of their first victory. Last year these two teams met and RB fell 38-36. West Side junior quarterback Ramone Atkins drew praise from RB coach Brendan Curtin and the Cougars also possess two wide receivers with Division I offers, including Ohio State commit Lonnie Johnson.

Proviso East at Morton

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: 2400 Home Ave., Berwyn

Records: Morton 0-2, Proviso East 0-2

Outlook: The Mustangs will be looking to repeat last year's 21-6 win over Proviso East in the 2012 finale. Both teams enter winless and coming off heavy defeats in West Suburban Conference crossovers. Morton lost to Glenbard West 68-7 and Proviso East fell to York 52-22.

Nazareth at Marist

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: 4200 W. 115th St., Chicago

Records: Nazareth 2-0, Marist 1-1

Outlook: The Roadrunners are into the big time as East Suburban Catholic play opens with a tough game at Marist. The Redhawks shared the conference title last year and will be a difficult early season test.

Fenwick at Brother Rice

When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: 10001 S. Pulaski Rd., Chicago

Records: Fenwick 2-0, Brother Rice 1-1
