CAROL STREAM – The Carol Stream Police Department was recently recognized for its traffic safety program, which the Illinois Association of Chiefs of Police (ILACP) has deemed the best in the state, according to an Aug. 22 news release from the department.
When attending the 2012 ILACP Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge Awards luncheon, the department received the Illinois Traffic Safety Challenge 2012 Impaired Driving Award and the Judges Award, among other honors. The Judges Award recognizes the best overall traffic safety program in Illinois, the release said.
Carol Stream's traffic safety program focuses on education, enforcement and injury prevention, according to the release. The department urges residents not to drink and drive and to always wear a seat belt.
