As Week 2 of the high school football season kicks off, Bolingbrook and Benet look to continue their winning ways while Lisle and Downers Grove South aim to enter the win column for the first time.

Lisle at Herscher

7 p.m. Friday

Where: 501 N. Main St., Herscher

Records: Lisle 0-1; Herscher 1-0

Outlook: After a bitter defeat to Manteno on a late touchdown last weekend, the Lions hit the road for the first time this season and should expect a tough test from host Herscher. Lisle topped the Tigers in Week 2 last year, and Herscher missed the playoffs. Revenge could be on the host's mind Friday night while the Lions are looking to regroup and earn their first win.

South Elgin at Benet

7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: 5700 College Road, Lisle

Records: South Elgin 0-1; Benet 1-0

Outlook: Another week, another tough game against a Class 8A foe. Quarterback Jack Beneventi and the Redwings, who topped the Storm 35-21 in Week 2 last year, welcome them for this year's home opener. The Redwings showed they are more than just a passing team in the opener as Porter Ontko, Nick McTarnaghan and Brad Szanjder all contributed heavily in the running game. After this one, Benet will play at home just twice in the next six weeks.

Romeoville at Bolingbrook

7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: 365 Raider Way, Bolingbrook

Records: Romeoville 1-0; Bolingbrook 1-0

Outlook: Valley View School District bragging rights are on the line. Quarterback Quincy Woods, running back Jaden Huff and the Raiders, who topped Hinsdale Central in Week 1, will look to win again and replicate last year's 46-10 Week 2 win over the Spartans. Romeoville's win in the opener was its first win since 2011.

Downers Grove South at Proviso West

7:30 p.m. Friday

Where: 4701 Harrison St., Hillside

Records: DGS 0-1; Proviso West 0-1

Outlook: The Mustangs received a stiff test in the opener and fell to 2012 state semifinalist Benet 21-0. Now Jordan Skach, Javon Turner and the Mustangs look for their first win against an athletic Proviso West squad in this West Suburban Conference crossover game.
