LOMBARD – The Lombard Board of Trustees approved the appointment of Tim Sexton, finance director, to the position of acting village manager at Thursday night's meeting.

Sexton will fill the vacancy left by former village manager David Hulseberg who retired at the beginning of the month. While serving as acting village manager, Sexton will receive a 15 percent increase in pay, according to board documents. The salary listed online for the village's finance director in 2012 is $130,001.

At the Aug. 15 board meeting, a contract was awarded to Voorhees and Associates of Deerfield in the amount of $16,400 to conduct a nationwide search for a new village manager.
