Spots still open for Lisle's Bridal Mile event Sunday

LISLE – Future brides will gather for a one-day event to sample cake, search for a dress, try on jewelry, meet vendors and address other wedding planning needs in downtown Lisle Sunday.

The event, Bridal Mile in Lisle, will be noon to 4 p.m. Sunday along Main Street.

More than 45 vendors specializing in entertainment, health and beauty, fine jewelry, gifts, flowers, invitations, planning, travel, attire, cakes and more will be available to help brides plan their big day.

“[The event] saves the brides time and energy since they can meet everyone in one day,” said event coordinator Mary Kay Vincenti, owner and president of Lisle business 121 Creative Communications. “We are excited and think it’s going to be great.”

At the event, brides will receive a bridal canvas tote bag, a $29 value, to carry information they receive from vendors and a “passport” to retrieve stamps from vendors they visit. Each bride will be asked to retrieve a certain number of stamps to learn how different vendors can help with their wedding, Vincenti said.

While some vendors at the event are based outside of Lisle, most are local, Vincenti said, including The Nook, which accepts custom orders for candy buffets at weddings, Past Presence Framing, which creates shadow box collages of wedding keepsakes, and Above and Beyond, The Pilates Studio, which provides an exercise program to get brides in shape prior to their wedding.

Brides will also be shuttled by bus and limousine to the Wyndham and Hilton hotels in Lisle, where they can tour reception halls, guest bedrooms and suites, taste appetizers and small plates of food, and meet additional vendors.

At the end of the event, brides will be asked to gather for a raffle, where they can win a travel gift certificate that can be used for a honeymoon.

Vincenti was inspired to bring Bridal Mile to Lisle after attending a similar event with her daughter. She began organizing it in February, and said the enthusiasm from vendors has convinced her to continue the event on a yearly basis.

Bridal Mile is sponsored by 121 Creative Communications, Lisle Dental Center, Hilton Hotel Lisle and Wyndham Hotel Lisle.

Registration is $25 per bride, and each bride can bring up to two guests.
