Lombard Fire Department to hold moment of silence for 9/11

LOMBARD – To commemorate the 12th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks, the Lombard Fire Department is planning a moment of silence.

At 8:59 a.m. Wednesday, members of the fire department will hold a moment of silence at both fire stations to mark the time when the south tower of the World Trade Center collapsed. Station 1 is located at 50 E. St. Charles Road and Station 2 is located at 2020 S. Highland Ave.

Chief Paul Di Rienzo has invited residents and community members to either fire station to participate in the moment of silence or to visit during an 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. open house that day.

Questions can be directed to Bridget Doyle, communications coordinator, at 630-620-5718.
