Hundreds face layoffs in Carol Stream

CAROL STREAM – Two employers in Carol Stream are closing their doors, resulting in almost 300 layoffs, according to a report from the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity.

Booklet Binding, Inc./Team Services, 700 Kimberly Drive, laid off 177 workers on Aug. 16, the report said. The printing support company is closing for financial reasons.

Vehicle supplier and wholesaler CTS Automotive LLC, 400 E. Fullerton Ave., will lay off 93 employees between Oct. 5 and March 28, according to the report. The reason for the company's closure was not provided.

Calls to Booklet Binding and CTW Automotive were not immediately returned.
