Bolingbrook Oktoberfest celebration planned for Sept. 12 at the Promenade

BOLINGBROOK – Oktoberfest returns to the Promenade Bolingbrook on Thursday, Sept. 12.

A collaborative effort by the Bolingbrook Area Chamber of Commerce, Gordon Biersch, the Promenade Bolingbrook, and the Village of Bolingbrook Art's Council, the 2013 Oktoberfest celebration runs from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday and will include the tapping of the seasonal Festbier.

For the second straight year, Oktoberfest will be held at the Promenade, outside the premises of Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant. 

Free for everbody, the community festival caters to residents and community leaders and features traditional German fare, as well as live entertainment, a children's activity zone, prizes giveaways and raffles.

Additionally, Oktoberfest staff will hold a contest and award prizes to the attendee that brings the most unique stein.
