GLEN ELLYN – After hovering around the .500 mark a season ago, the Glenbard South boys soccer team is hoping to take additional strides in 2013.

Offensive production was the biggest question coming into the campaign and has been an issue through the first couple of weeks of the season.

“We are dominating the field of play this season and moving the ball well,” coach Melissa Pero said, “we just need to now work on finding the net. Every game we are receiving compliments about our field of play, but our scores are not showing it yet.”

Glenbard South started the season 1-2, beating St. Rita while losing to TF United and St. Joe’s.

The Raiders are led by returners Matt Patterson, Nelson Curtis and Jonny Gutierrez.

The squad opens Metro Suburban Conference play Sept. 19 against Fenton. Riverside Brookfield is the defending league champ.
