OAK BROOK – More than 70 nephrologists and transplant professionals from the Chicago area will tee off Sept. 11 at the Willow Crest Golf Club in Oak Brook to raise more than $30,000 after expenses for the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois.

Now in its sixth year, the Kidney Care Classic was started by Nephrology Associates of Northern Illinois (NANI).

The Kidney Care Classic is a competitive golf tournament that offers professionals in the nephrology and transplant fields an opportunity to network and build ties to improve patient care. Prizes for the winning foursome, longest drive and raffle vary from an afternoon tour of the CBS2 studio and dinner with CBS2 anchor Rob Johnson to foursomes of golf at local courses.

Financial support from the Kidney Care Classic benefits the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, a nonprofit organization that works to prevent kidney disease and improve the lives of those affected by it, according to a news release.
