Rosalind Wiseman, who authored the book that inspired the hit movie "Mean Girls," will share her insights into the world of boys at this month's Glenbard Parent Series event Sept. 19.

Wiseman, author of "Queen Bees and Wannabes," will discuss her new book, “Masterminds and Wingmen: Helping Your Son Cope with Schoolyard Power, Locker-Room Tests, Girlfriends and the New Rules of Boy World.”

Wiseman will talk about friendships, relationships, social dynamics and other aspects of "boy world" and share advice on how to teach young people to treat each other with dignity. She also will offer suggestions for parents on how to approach struggles with their sons.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. at Glenbard North High School, 990 Kuhn Road in Carol Stream.

Parents, students and community members are welcome to attend the free program.

A welcome coffee with Glenbard High School District 87 Superintendent David Larson will precede the presentation at 6:30 p.m.

Glenbard Parent Series is the result of a sponsorship from the Cebrin Goodman Center and a partnership with the Cooperative Association for Special Education (CASE).
