WHEATON – Armed with a veteran group, Wheaton North will look to make a climb up the standings in the rugged DuPage Valley Conference.

Despite the loss of a pair of all-conference performers in Ali Royer and Kendra Arenkill, the Falcons have a solid core returning to the court in 2013.

Captain Maddie Hutchinson headlines the group, which has seven seniors on the roster, while Erica Walker and Grace Tiesman also return. Junior trio Kelly Thornton, Alana Schouten and Anna Grace also should be contributors.

Facing a touch schedule throughout the fall, Wheaton North will look to improve on its fourth place DVC finish from a year ago.

“Defense has always been a plus for us and continues to be a strength,” coach Carole Kristensen said. “We are also running a new offense this year which will utilize all the talents of our players.”
