Village seeks property development opportunities for downtown properties

LOMBARD – Village staff within the Community Development Department are looking for parties potentially interested in redevelopment opportunities in downtown Lombard.

The two parcels of available land are located at 101 and 109 S. Main St., are owned by the village and total 2.19 acres, combined.

In the village's Downtown Revitalization Project Guidebook, which was adopted by the board in 2011, this area is identified as one of the most significant development opportunities in downtown Lombard, and the guidebook specifies the properties for a mix of residential, dining, entertainment, commercial and cultural uses.

Lombard's current outreach efforts are focused on identifying interested parties and developing design concepts and economic development plans, said Bill Heniff, director of community development, in a news release.

"With an improving economy, the Village Board is interested in finding out what possibilities are available for this site," Heniff said. "They directed staff to initiate an outreach effort to explore such opportunities."

Any interested developers are encouraged to contact Heniff at 630-620-3599 or heniffw@villageoflombard.org.
