Glen Ellyn Historical Society offers glimpse into pioneer life with annual Tavern Day

GLEN ELLYN – Stacy's Corners will come to life with history at the Glen Ellyn Historical Society's annual Tavern Day celebration Sept. 29.

Attractions include farm animals, historic demonstrations, pioneer games, musical performances and more.

Visitors will be able to listen to tales of old Glen Ellyn, milk a cow, stuff a scarecrow, learn about beekeeping and try their hand at chores such as rope making, corn shelling and candle dipping.

The event will take place from 1 to 4:30 p.m. at 800 N. Main St.

Tickets cost $6 for Historical Society adult members, $3 for student members, $8 for adult non-members and $4 for student non-members. Students include children ages 3 through 17.

Tickets may be purchased at the event or beforehand at Stacy's Corners Store, 800 N. Main St.
