Police said the child was walking downtown and was approached by a man driving a navy blue late '90s two-door vehicle with a custom exhaust system.

The man briefly spoke to the child, at which time the child observed that the man was exposing himself, police said.

The child retrieved his cellphone and the man left the scene, driving westbound on Warren from Highland. The man is described as a male white in his late 20s or early 30s, heavy set, with brown hair, some facial hair and blue eyes. Anyone with information regarding this case should contact the Downers Grove Police Department at 630-434-5600.

Downers Grove police reminded all parents and children to always be aware of their surroundings and to contact the police department any time suspicious activity is observed.
