DOWNERS GROVE – The Downers Grove Area Chamber of Commerce & Industry named Mike Busse, president of Community Bank of Downers Grove, as the 2013 Enterprise Award winner.
He will be recognized at the Chamber’s Black & White Ball Beyond Business on Sept. 27 at the Crowne Plaza Lombard Downers Grove.
The Chamber’s Enterprise Award honors and celebrates an individual who is employed by, or owns, a member business and has "significantly impacted the community through personal involvement, while actively providing and protecting economic opportunity for the benefit of all," according to a press release.
“Mr. Busse has launched several programs that benefit the community, such as the Holiday Sharing Program," Downers Grove Economic Development Corporation President Michael Cassa said in a statement. "This program matches employee donations to local not for profit organizations with certificates (Busse Bucks) that can be spent in some local businesses.
"We’re fortunate to have someone so generous with his time and philanthropy in Downers Grove.”
