LA GRANGE – The Des Plaines Valley Council of the Boy Scouts of America will host a fundraiser at the Cubs game Sept. 23.

For a donation of at least $35, supporters can first take part in a pregame tailgate party at Murphy's Bleachers, 3655 N. Sheffield Ave., Chicago, located directly across from Wrigley Field. The party includes an appetizer buffet and two beers or sodas.

Participants will then walk across the street to the ballpark for the 7:05 p.m. game between the Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates.

All proceeds will support troops in the 42 west suburban and southwest suburban communities served by the council.

The pregame party also includes a silent auction, which will feature Blackhawks and Bulls memorabilia, along with other items.

Everyone is welcome to attend, regardless of whether they are currently involved in Boy Scouts. If interested, contact Manny Carrera, district executive at the Scouts Service Center in La Grange, at 708-354-1111, or email manuel.carrera@scouting.org
