D-87 staff honored for communications work

GLEN ELLYN – Glenbard Township High School District 87 is being recognized for its communications work by the Illinois Chapter of the National Public Relations Association.

The association's annual communications contest is the only awards program in Illinois that recognizes school communications. Awards honor high quality editorial content and graphic design.

D-87 award recipients include: Glenbard East: Kathy Burns, assistant to the principal, for parent newsletter; Glenbard West: Sandy Schumann, assistant to the principal, and Jane Thorsen, former principal, for principal’s newsletter; Chris Larsen, assistant to the assistant principal for student services, and Principal Peter Monaghan, for student handbook; and Tina Pate, assistant to the assistant principal for instruction, and Assistant Principal for Instruction Rebecca Sulaver, for enrollment handbook.

The competition was judged by communications professionals from across the country.

Awards will be presented during a Sept. 20 luncheon.
