Addison Trail welcomes new science teacher
ADDISON – A new science teacher joins Addison Trail High School this year. And, while she may be new, she already has plenty of science and education experience.
Erin Groth has been teaching for more than 12 years. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Zoology from Eastern Illinois University, as well as two master’s degrees: one in education from University of St. Francis and the other in educational leadership from Concordia University.
Groth said she chose teaching because it gives her an opportunity to do what she enjoys and have a positive impact on students. She started as a student teacher at Plainfield Central High School, where she then taught. After Plainfield, she spent 12 years teaching all levels of biology at West Leyden High School.
