WHEATON – A little more than one month before longtime Wheaton Public Library Director Sarah Meisels steps down, the library's board of trustees has selected her replacement, according to a library news release.

Betty Adamowski, who has been the Itasca Community Library Director since 2000, will take the position after Meisels, who has been on staff for nearly five decades and has served as the library's director for 35 years, retires. Adamowski worked as Itasca’s Youth Services Manager from 1989 to 2000 and holds a bachelor of science from Illinois State University and a master's of library science from Northern Illinois University.

Adamowski will take over effective Oct. 1 of this year.
