WEST CHICAGO – In honor of National Library Card Sign-Up Month in September, the West Chicago Public Library District is encouraging parents to make sure their children start off the school year right: by having their own library card.

“Our library provides all types of students with the tools they need to succeed,” Administrative Librarian Melody E. Coleman said. “We provide students with exciting and engaging programs that make learning fun and resources that they can access from the library or from home – all with a free library card.”

With a library card, students can access various print and electronic resources, including free databases and online homework help. The card also allows them to attend programs, activities and clubs that can add to their educational experiences, according to a library news release.
