ADDISON – A local animal rescue is hosting a Vegas-style fundraiser filled with live entertainment, free games and a silent auction to raise funds for homeless pets.

Foster 2 Home invites animal-lovers to All In for the Dogs, a casino-themed gala at Medinah Shriners in Addison next week. North of Eight will perform live while guests snack from the appetizer buffet and bid on more than 70 prize packages in the silent auction, which include an iPad, jewelry and tickets to sporting events.

The live auction will include autographed sports memorabilia like a hockey puck signed by Patrick Sharp and a Derrick Rose jersey with his signature, among other items.

The rescue is completely volunteer-run and depends on donations to provide for the dogs that come into their care. The nonprofit focuses on rescuing dogs from high-kill shelters in nine states with especially high numbers of homeless dogs.

In the past two years, Foster 2 Home rescued nearly 600 dogs with no regard to age or breed. Unlike other rescues, the group accepts dogs with known medical issues. Because of this, Foster 2 Home’s biggest expense is veterinary costs.
