BOLINGBROOK – A 17-year-old and 18-year-old – both Bolingbrook residents – were charged with burglary on Tuesday morning after allegedly robbing a house in the 600 block of Derbyshire Lane, according to the Bolingbrook Police Department.
Alexis Garcia-Galvez, 18, of 13L Fernwood Drive, Bolingbrook, was charged with felony residential burglary and and a 17-year-old juvenile male was charged with tresspassing after the two were apprehended fleeing from the scene of the burglary, according to police.
At about 9:42 a.m. Tuesday, Bolingbrook police received a 9-1-1 call from a homeowner stating a male subject – allegedly Garcia-Galvez – kept ringing the doorbell and was repeatedly knocking on the victim's front door, according to Lt. Mike Rompa.
When Garcia-Galvez allegedly went to the backyard and then entered the home, the homeowner retreated to an upstairs bedroom, locked the door and called police, Rompa said.
"Officers arrived and located an open basement window," Rompa said. "As police entered the home, they could hear an individual scrambling to exit the house. Officers engaged in two foot pursuits and both offenders were taken into custody a short distance from the residence."
Garcia-Galvez had a gold-colored watch on him when officers secured him, police said.
He was charged with residential burglary, processed and transported to Will County Adult Detention Facility.
