Villa Park man charged after allegedly burglarizing Carol Stream business
VILLA PARK – A Villa Park man was arrested by a sheriff's deputy early Tuesday morning after allegedly burglarizing a business in unincorporated Carol Stream.
Nicholas Prendergast, 26, of the 200 block of Ardmore Avenue in Villa Park, was charged with one count of burglary, one count of possession of burglary tools and one count of possession of marijuana, according to police.
The DuPage County Sheriff's Office received a call at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday about an alarm going off at Thorne Electric, 26W501 St. Charles Road in unincorporated Carol Stream. When deputies arrived at the business, they found a fence had been cut and Prendergast allegedly was in the back parking lot, running toward his car, police said.
