League of Women Voters, DuPage United to host panel on manufacturing jobs
WHEATON – Two local organizations are coming together on Sept. 19 to help the unemployed and underemployed find jobs in manufacturing.
DuPage United and the League of Women Voters of Wheaton will host a panel to discuss increasing access to job training resources for those seeking well-paying jobs in advanced manufacturing, according to a League of Women Voters news release.
The panel will be moderated by Tom Wendorf of DuPage United and will include Executive Director of the DuPage Workforce Board MaryBeth Marshall, Coordinator of Manufacturing and Welding Technology at the College of DuPage Jim Filipek and a representative from advanced manufacturing.
There will be a meet-and-greet at 7 p.m., with the formal program beginning at 7:30 p.m. at the Wheaton Park District Community Center at 1777 S. Blanchard St. in Wheaton. The event is free and open to the public.
