Pride Commission to host pet adoption, rescue event

VILLA PARK – People looking to adopt pets and local animal lovers are invited to visit the Prairie Path on Sept. 3 for the village's annual Paws on the Path event hosted by the Villa Park Community Pride Commission.

The event will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. near the Ruggard Gazebo at Park Boulevard and Ardmore Avenue.

Local pet adoption and rescue agencies will be there with companion animals available for adoption. Residents can also bring their own pets to the event.

There will be animal-related activities and demonstrations throughout the day, including a pet first-aid lecture at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., a bed bug sniffing dog at noon and a demonstration by the Villa Park K-9 unit at 12:30 p.m.
