Chicago man arrested on gun charges outside Brauer House in Lombard

LOMBARD – A Chicago man was arrested Aug. 21 on gun and drug possession charges while in the parking lot of the Brauer House, 1000 N. Route 53, with a Lombard man who was arrested on drug possession charges.

Allen Harper, 24, 6738 W. 63rd St., Chicago, was charged with possession of a firearm without a FOID card, unlawful use of a weapon, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. With him was Pavel Venera, 22, 444 W. Crescent St., Lombard, who was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Police were called to the area after receiving reports that Harper and Venera had been in a car in the parking lot for 45 minutes. When officers responded they found a loaded gun in the car, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, according to a police report.
