5K Fun Run promotes healthy choices for teens

CAROL STREAM – The ninth annual Jonathan Petit 5K Fun Run will take place at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Sept. 1 in Armstrong Park, 391 Illini Drive, according to a news release from the village of Carol Stream.

The event is hosted by Parents and Teens Together, a nonprofit dedicated to preventing underage drinking in Carol Stream by partnering with community groups to promote healthy choices, the release said.

Registration will begin at 9:15 a.m. The event will feature music, food, games, face painting, giveaways and raffle prizes, according to the release.
