CLARENDON HILLS – The start of the school year is always the time to focus on new learning experiences, meeting teachers and getting on the right track with study skills and time management.
Yet, a healthy student is often a more successful student, and the Clarendon Hills Park District is once again offering its After School Sports and Nutrition Program to boys and girls in grades 1-5.
This program incorporates fitness, health and nutrition into a one-hour class, which will be offered the weeks of Sept. 16 to Oct. 28. In addition to learning a new sports or fitness routine each week, children will spend part of each class session discussing nutrition, the four food groups and healthy snacks.
This fall, Walker School will hold classes on Monday and Wednesday afternoons, while Prospect School will host this activity on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. All classes meet from 3:10 to 4:10 p.m. There is a $60 fee for each class attended.
Registration is now underway at the Community Center. For more information, call 630-323-2626.
