Lemont refinery tees off for muscular dystrophy

Published: Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 2:00 p.m. CDT

LEMONT – The CITGO Petroleum Corporation Lemont Refinery helped raise more than $270,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Association at the annual CITGO MDA Driving for a Cure Golf Scramble on July 30 at Silver Lake Country Club and Crystal Tree Country Club in Orland Park.

This year’s tournament broke fundraising records and earned $20,000 more than last year's event.

The proceeds will provide local services such as flu shots, medical equipment repairs, support groups, local clinics and a week-long summer camp for families who are battling neuromuscular disease.
