Boy Scouts host 'Fun Day' in Downers Grove Saturday

DOWNERS GROVE – The Boy Scouts are inviting boys in first through fifth grades to join in a day of fun, games and other activities from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m Saturday in Hummer Park, 4833 Fairview Ave.

Boys can participate in the Cub Scout Fun Day for an hour or all day, depending on their interests and time available.

A boy does not need to be a registered Cub Scout to participate, but each must be supervised by a parent or guardian, 18 years or older.

Scout crafts, games, making and launching bottle rockets, and other fun activities will be offered, according to a press release.

The event is being hosted by the Tall Grass District of the Des Plaines Valley Council, which has a Service Center is located in La Grange.

The Council serves 42 communities in the west and southwest suburbs of Chicago, including the Downers Grove area.
