Residency requirements to be more strictly enforced at D-86
HINSDALE – Hinsdale Township High School District 86 has called upon each school to thoroughly review the normally expected residency checks, starting with this year’s registration process, according to the district's board briefs.
Acting superintendent Bruce Law regards this as a fiduciary responsibility of the district to its taxpayers – citing that the cost of educating a nonresident pupil amounts to more than $16,000 per student, according to the brief.
Law reported that a review of registration procedures with building administration teams found that residency checks were not being systematically performed as a part of registration at all grade levels.
