DOWNERS GROVE – The District 58 Board of Education approved the appointment of Brent Borchelt as the new principal of Belle Aire School this month.

Borchelt served for the past two years as assistant principal at Hillcrest and Pierce Downer schools, and for two years prior to that as assistant principal at Herrick Middle School.

Borchelt was a language arts and reading teacher at Herrick from 2001-09.

Borchelt said he is excited to meet and get to know the Belle Aire staff, students and families.

“I'm excited to have become a new team member of a solid and student-centered staff and community," he said in a press release. "I see this as a great opportunity for us to work together, to grow together, and to learn together."
