Lombard Historical Society to host biking history event

LOMBARD – Residents can explore Lombard's history via bike during the Lombard Historical Society's Pedal to the Past event in connect with its Second Sunday History Talk at 2 p.m. Sept. 8.

Participants will be led by Carl Shaver, a local railroad historian, and Sarah Richardt, executive director of the Lombard Town Centre, as they bike about four miles through the village learning about local history. The group will visit historical Lombard railroad sites, the Little Orphan Annie home and Lustron homes.

Water breaks will be provided along the route and all participants are required to wear helmets.

The event is $5 for members of the historical society or $10 for non-members.
